Course structure

The course is structured keeping in mind that it is targeted for someone with no prior experience in embroidery. It starts with the basics – from a background of embroidery in India, to different needles, threads and embroidery materials and evolves to hands-on training.

To help get comprehensive training, the course is divided into practical and theory. For the practical part, an experienced craftswoman/craftsman and a supervisor is needed to demonstrate and teach the embroidery techniques in detail to the class and there are many short exercises that the beneficiary is required to undertake to complete this training successfully.

The course covers two main hand embroideries – zardozi and aari, which comprise parts 1 and 2 of the course. This course is in Hindi with English subtitles. Each session on Udemy is backed with teaching notes, video tutorials, assignments, and quizzes to make the course engaging. To understand the course structure, please refer to this document.
